This rise in vehicle volume has resulted in varied waiting times at key international crossing points. Specifically, travelers entering the country through Tabanovce are currently facing delays exceeding one hour.
Conversely, delays at the Bogorodica exit point are reported to be approximately 15 minutes. LAMM noted that at other Macedonian border crossings, entry and exit procedures are currently experiencing no significant delays. In light of the heightened traffic volume and the general conditions, LAMM issued several safety recommendations for motorists.
Drivers are advised to maintain regulated speeds and strictly adhere to all established traffic signals. Particular caution is urged for vehicles traversing areas susceptible to geological instability, including valleys, river valleys, and steep slopes, due to the persistent risk of mudslides. This advisory is especially pertinent for specific high-risk road sections, including Katllanovë to Veles, Mavrovë to Dibër to Strugë, Vinica to Berovë, and Kočan to Dellčevo.
The agency emphasizes that vigilance and careful driving practices are necessary across these routes to ensure the safety of all road users navigating the increased traffic flow near the border regions.
