The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) – Ferizaj branch has publicly opposed the recent decision made by the governing body of the Communal Council to raise the monthly waste collection fee for residents in Ferizaj. The fee is set to increase from 6.50 euros to 9.90 euros. The LDK stated that this decision will result in an additional monthly expenditure of 3.40 euros for every family residing in Ferizaj.
This represents an increase exceeding 52 percent. The party highlighted that this substantial hike occurs amidst an ongoing period of rising costs of living for households. While the LDK expressed support for strengthening public enterprises and investments aimed at improving the cleanliness of the city, it voiced strong opposition to the mechanism of funding.
