The University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) reported significant activity at its Emergency Center over the past weekend, providing a total of 992 medical services to numerous patients. The high volume of care was distributed across several specialized departments. According to data released by QKUK, the Internal Medicine Emergency department managed the highest patient count with 286 individuals treated, followed by the Resuscitation unit with 227 patients, and the Orthopedic Emergency unit, which treated 200 patients.
Additionally, 168 patients required care in the Surgical Emergency department, and 94 patients utilized the Small Room services. Regarding the causes of presentation, the majority of cases involved traffic accidents, accounting for 75 individuals treated. Other reported injuries included six cases of falls, five instances of intoxication, and one reported injury sustained from a cold weapon.
Throughout the weekend period, the medical staff also facilitated 85 transfers to various affiliated clinics for continued care. The sustained operational tempo underscores the critical role of the emergency services provided by the facility. While the center managed a diverse range of acute medical needs, QKUK noted that no specific incidents were reported over the weekend period outside of the documented admissions and transfers.
