The Ministry of Interior reported the detention of a 50-year-old man from the village of Negotinë after he was observed walking on the Gostivar–Tetovë highway. According to the Ministry, the incident occurred on August 3rd at approximately 2:30 AM. Police officers from the Gostivar Road Communications Security Section spotted the individual, identified as O.A., walking in the vicinity of the “Tuçevishte” junction.
Upon intervention, the police conducted an alcohol test, which revealed that the man had a blood alcohol level of 1.65 promille. Furthermore, the Ministry noted that during the official procedures conducted by the officers, the individual reportedly resisted the police. Following the necessary documentation, the man was taken into custody at the local police station.
The Ministry confirmed that appropriate legal charges will be filed against him once the case documentation is fully completed. The incident highlights routine enforcement actions taken by the police to maintain safety and order on major thoroughfares.
