Përparim Gruda, a deputy from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, has criticized the recent meetings involving the leader of the VV with various political parties. Gruda characterized these gatherings as a “farce,” alleging that the primary objective is for the VV leader to secure the presidency. According to Gruda, the strategy appears to be a calculated effort to consolidate power.
He asserted that if the VV leader fails to secure the presidency through current means, the party leader intends to contest the upcoming elections for the position. “It is totally improvised. Kurti aims to take the presidency, to establish full power,” Gruda stated.
He urged other political parties not to permit this trajectory. Gruda further suggested that the leadership’s intentions were clear: if the path to the presidency is blocked, the VV leader will seek to take the spot through the electoral process. In a related development, Gruda noted that the PDK leadership perceived these maneuvers as an “improvisation.” Consequently, the PDK opted not to attend the meeting in question.
The statements from Gruda highlight a significant level of political tension and disagreement regarding the political maneuvering surrounding the potential presidency in Kosovo.
