The party asserts that the agreement was finalized through direct negotiations, bypassing the requirement for a public notice, which they argue constitutes a lack of transparency. According to the statement issued by LSDM, the contract was awarded to a company named “Kožuvčanka.” Furthermore, the opposition party highlighted that this company is reportedly owned by the mayor of Kavadar. The procedural handling of the contract was allegedly overseen by Ivica Tomovski, the Director of the General Directorate of Public Works.
LSDM’s critique extends beyond the procedural details of the contract. The opposition party pointed to the ongoing water supply situation in Gostivar, where citizens are reportedly facing issues with contaminated water. LSDM questioned the timing and nature of the agreement, suggesting that while the public infrastructure and the availability of clean water remain critical concerns for residents, the government is proceeding with significant financial commitments without apparent public oversight.
The party maintains that these actions reflect a pattern of non-transparent governance regarding essential public services.
