LSM appeals to employers: Protect workers from the heat, respect ISHP recommendations

The Confederation of Trade Unions of Macedonia has issued a call to all employers regarding the forecasted high temperatures expected today and in the coming days. The union urges all employers to strictly adhere to the guidelines detailed in the Action Plan designed to mitigate the health effects of heatwaves on the population. In light of the anticipated extreme heat, the Confederation emphasizes the necessity for employers to uphold stringent safety and health protocols in the workplace.

Specifically, the union requests that employers implement measures that reduce or suspend outdoor labor for workers during the peak heat hours. Furthermore, it mandates that employers guarantee all necessary means and procedures are in place to safeguard the life and health of workers under these challenging conditions. The core message delivered by the Confederation is the critical need for employers to actively respect protective and care measures when high temperatures are present.

Adherence to these established protocols is deemed essential for ensuring the well-being of the workforce. The union stresses that proactive measures must be taken by employers to protect their workers from the adverse impacts of the heatwave, thereby ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
