Rehabilitation of R124 road in Kamenicë concludes, investment of over 3.2 million euros

The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, along with the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, and the Mayor of Kamenica, Kadri Rahimaj, recently inaugurated the completion of a significant infrastructure project. The focus of the event was the rehabilitation and asphalt paving of the regional road R124, specifically covering the segment connecting Shipashnicë, Desivojcë, and Terstenë. This substantial development project carried an approximate cost of 3.256 million euros.

The scope of work involved the comprehensive rehabilitation and asphalt paving of roughly 10 kilometers of roadway, establishing a consistent width of approximately six meters across the route. During the inauguration, Acting Prime Minister Kurti highlighted the strategic importance of the newly completed road. He stated that the improved connectivity is expected to significantly facilitate the movement of both local citizens and commercial enterprises within the region.

Furthermore, he emphasized the road’s crucial role in bolstering the economic development and tourism potential throughout the Kamenica area. The successful completion of this key road infrastructure is anticipated to streamline daily life and boost local commerce. The paving and rehabilitation efforts are set to provide a more reliable and efficient transit corridor, supporting regional growth by connecting vital points within the municipality.
