The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade addressed accusations made by the opposition LSDM, dismissing claims that the government is secretly preparing to accept a French proposal or that there are discernible signals from Brussels indicating such an agreement. The ministry characterized the opposition’s assertions as an attempt to generate public hysteria and misinformation. The core of the dispute revolves around the LSDM’s allegations that the government is engaged in secret negotiations with the European Union.
In response, the MPJ stated that institutional communication with EU member states, including Bulgaria, and other international partners is conducted regularly and transparently. Despite the accusations from the LSDM regarding clandestine talks, the MPJ maintained that the government’s position remains firm concerning the prerequisites for the country’s European integration path. The Ministry emphasized that all interactions are conducted openly.
Therefore, the MPJ refuted the notion of any hidden agreements, confirming that the government’s approach to EU integration will proceed based on established, transparent procedures.
