Operator fined for dumping inert waste in Mitrovica

The Mayor of the Municipality of Mitrovica, Faton Peci, confirmed that an economic operator was penalized by the Inspection Directorate for illegally dumping inert waste from a construction site onto “Ukshin Kovaçica” street. This activity resulted in environmental pollution and raised concerns among local residents. The discovery of the violation was made possible through a video clip submitted by a concerned citizen.

Upon receiving the report, the Inspection Directorate promptly initiated action, issuing fines to both the project investor and the site foreman responsible for the operation. The Municipality issued an official apology to the citizenry for the distress caused by the incident. Authorities emphasized that such violations of environmental standards will not be tolerated moving forward.

In response to the infraction, the Directorate confirmed that stricter measures will be implemented against any operator found repeating similar violations.
