The Municipality of Podujev has issued a statement refuting claims made by Petrit Reçica, the executive director of KRM “Pastrimi.” The municipality contends that Mr. Reçica’s statements are inaccurate and suggest an attempt to deflect responsibility for the waste management issues within the municipality to local governmental bodies. In its response, the Municipality disputes the timeline presented by KRM “Pastrimi.” Specifically, it asserts that the current waste collection difficulties have emerged only within this year, contradicting the claim by “Pastrimi” that the problem has persisted over the last four years.
KRM “Pastrimi,” in turn, addressed the Municipality’s comments. The company noted that the Municipality had indicated readiness to consider a proposal for revising service tariffs. However, KRM “Pastrimi” argued that making such a determination is premature, given that the waste collection service is currently operating at a diminished standard.
The Municipality countered this by reiterating its concerns regarding the service provision. The core of the dispute centers on accountability for the current state of waste collection, with both parties maintaining differing views on the origin and severity of the service lapses.
