The agency determined that the unauthorized inclusion of powdered milk or palm oil, either by failing to declare these ingredients on the product label or by exceeding the declared quantities, constitutes a violation of consumer protection and information laws. To enforce these standards, MINTI has announced a comprehensive inspection initiative.
Beginning on August 6, 2026, the Central Market Supervision Inspectorate (IQMT), in collaboration with the AUV, will commence intensive controls. These inspections will cover every segment of the supply chain, including producers, importers, distributors, storage depots, wholesale vendors, and retail outlets. The primary focus of the enforcement actions will target the undeclared use of ingredients, specifically pointing to instances involving palm oil and other undisclosed components found during recent audits.
This proactive measure aims to safeguard consumers by ensuring that packaged goods accurately reflect their contents. MINTI stressed that adherence to labeling regulations is mandatory for all market participants.
