The Ministry of Health has announced that comprehensive water analyses pertaining to the situation in Gostivar are scheduled for publication by August 20. Minister Sasho Klekovski confirmed that detailed information regarding the outbreak linked to the local water supply will be released on this date. Speaking to Kanal 5, Klekovski provided an update on the current health status, noting that the region is transitioning out of the acute phase of the outbreak.
He stated that the number of registered patients in recent days has fluctuated between 40 and 80, a rate considered within the normal parameters for August. However, the Minister emphasized that the official declaration of the end of the epidemic is contingent upon the definitive ruling out of any connection between subsequent case reports and the local drinking water sources. To this end, an expert team is actively engaged in conducting a thorough and detailed analysis.
Furthermore, the Ministry confirmed coordination efforts with the Food and Veterinary Agency to ensure comprehensive oversight. The public is advised that the full chronology and findings will be shared with relevant authorities, solidifying the scientific basis for any future public health recommendations concerning the water quality in Gostivar. The Ministry remains committed to providing transparent updates as the investigation progresses toward a conclusion.
