Health problems – details emerge about the tourist who died in Himara

A foreign national was found deceased in Himarë, with preliminary investigations suggesting that a medical issue is the cause of death. According to testimony provided by the deceased’s spouse, the woman had a history of documented health problems at her previous place of residence. The couple had planned to undergo a comprehensive medical check-up, but they postponed this examination after arriving in Albania for a vacation.

The incident occurred following an outing where the couple had been hiking in a mountainous region. Approximately twenty minutes into the walk, the woman reportedly informed her spouse that she was feeling unwell and experiencing significant difficulty breathing. They subsequently returned to their accommodation in Himarë.

Following their return, the woman vomited. The spouse visited a local pharmacy and purchased medication intended for nausea. Upon returning to the residence, the spouse discovered his partner unconscious.

He immediately sought emergency medical assistance. Reports detail the escalating nature of the situation, noting that the couple had been aware of potential underlying health issues, yet the immediate symptoms encountered during the trip suggest a serious acute event. Authorities are currently gathering more information about her medical background to determine the precise cause of death.
