The Central Inspectorate for Market Supervision (IQMT) conducted an inspection today concerning suspicions that the dairy “Vita” utilized irrigation water in the production and processing of its dairy products. In collaboration with officials from the National Institute of Public Health (IKSHPK) and representatives from the Regional Water Utility Company “Drini i Bardhë,” the inspection aimed to evaluate adherence to established minimum technical standards. As part of the procedure, samples of the water employed during the production process were collected for analysis.
The collected materials are slated to undergo comprehensive testing, encompassing physicochemical and microbiological analyses, alongside assessments for the presence of various metals. IQMT stated that subsequent to the completion of these analyses and the official acceptance of the results, the relevant competent institutions will take all necessary and appropriate actions. The joint effort involving the inspectorate and public health authorities underscores the commitment to ensuring product safety and compliance with national standards.
The findings from the testing of the water source will determine the final regulatory steps to be taken regarding the facility’s operations.
