The acting Prime Minister and leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, has once again extended an invitation to Bedri Hamza, the leader of the PDK, proposing discussions regarding potential agreements on leadership roles within the Parliament. Kurti addressed the matter in a formal letter sent on August 7. In the correspondence, Kurti conveyed his surprise regarding Hamza’s reported refusal to meet, asserting that matters concerning the formation of state institutions require direct, in-person deliberation.
Kurti wrote, stating, “Thank you for today’s response. I must admit that I do not understand why we cannot meet and discuss many things face-to-face for the sake of the Republic’s institutions and the citizens’ interest. Our communication must be political and collegial up close, and not just official and from afar.”
The communication highlighted Kurti’s belief that resolving institutional frameworks necessitates a personal exchange between the political leaders.
Despite the disagreement over the meeting, Kurti concluded his message by stating that he respects the decision made by the PDK leadership.
