Poland is now the sixth-largest economy in the EU, surpassing Switzerland.

According to data released by the European statistical office, Poland’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices reached 922.9 billion euros in 2025. This figure indicates that Poland contributed 4.9 percent to the total economy of the European Union. In terms of overall economic scale, Poland’s GDP places it below the top five economies within the EU.

The leading nations by economic size include Germany, which reported a GDP of 4.47 trillion euros; France, generating 2.99 trillion euros; Italy at 2.26 trillion euros; Spain at 1.69 trillion euros; and the Netherlands at 1.17 trillion euros. Despite being surpassed by these larger economies, Poland’s economic output exceeds that of Belgium, Sweden, Ireland, and Austria. The data confirms Poland’s status as the largest economy within Central and Eastern Europe.

For comparative context, the report noted that Romania’s GDP for 2025 was 380.1 billion euros, while the Czech Republic recorded a GDP of 347.3 billion euros. These figures provide a clear overview of Poland’s substantial economic standing within the European bloc, anchored by its 922.9 billion euros output, solidifying its position relative to its regional peers.
