UBT has joined the European network of institutions accredited by AESOP (Association of European Schools of Planning), an organization dedicated to advancing quality in education and research within the fields of spatial and urban planning. This recognition marks a significant milestone for the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning at UBT. This achievement is the culmination of a twenty-year development trajectory for the faculty.
Over two decades, the institution has grown into the nation’s largest architecture school, successfully developing new generations of architects and professionals in spatial planning. In a specific development, the Master’s program in Urban Planning and Sustainable Development has received Quality Recognition from AESOP. This establishes UBT as the first institution in Kosovo to achieve this particular accreditation.
The evaluation process assessed several key components integral to the quality of the program. The accreditation underscores UBT’s commitment to high academic standards in planning disciplines. By aligning with European best practices, the university enhances its profile in both regional and international academic circles.
This recognition bolsters the credibility of its curriculum, particularly in the areas of sustainable development and comprehensive spatial planning, thereby strengthening its role in shaping the future of built environments.
