Arrest of Fehmi Salit and cases of 2025, the Prosecution speaks about the suspected BIA network in Kosovo

The Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo has confirmed that its investigations are broadening beyond previously publicized cases. According to Special Prosecutor Bekim Kodraliu, authorities are currently investigating additional individuals suspected of engaging in espionage and collaborating with the Serbian secret service, the BIA. Kodraliu stated that a common thread among the suspects is their alleged association with the BIA.

The prosecutor indicated that the Serbian intelligence agency is suspected of actively recruiting individuals within Kosovo for the purpose of collecting and transmitting sensitive information. The scope of the intelligence gathering, according to the prosecutor, covers critical aspects of Kosovo’s political and security landscape. Specifically, the BIA is alleged to have shown significant interest in the dynamics of Islamic radicalization within the region, as well as monitoring various sectarian groups.

This expansion of the inquiry suggests a concerted effort by the Special Prosecutor’s Office to address intelligence threats originating from external sources. The focus remains on detailing the mechanisms by which the BIA allegedly infiltrates local networks. The confirmation signals a deepening of the legal proceedings surrounding the numerous cases opened in Kosovo, pointing to a coordinated effort to uncover patterns of foreign intelligence penetration.

The ongoing investigations aim to delineate the extent of this alleged collaboration with the BIA.
