Person arrested for airplane ticket fraud

Kosovo Police have announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with an incident of consumer fraud involving the sale of airplane tickets. According to the police statement, the alleged misconduct took place in October 2026. The incident involved an individual and their family who purchased tickets for travel between Hamburg and Pristina, totaling 1,150 euros.

Despite completing the payment for the tickets, the victims reported that they were unable to utilize any flights on the purchased itinerary in either direction. The police statement further detailed the financial impact, noting that because the original tickets were unusable, the affected parties were compelled to purchase alternative flights. This necessary action resulted in an additional financial loss amounting to 1,600 euros.

The police confirmed that the suspect is being held in connection with these financial losses stemming from the ticket purchase. The investigation focused on the deceptive nature of the transaction, where the purchased service—the flight—could not be rendered despite full payment. The authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full scope of the fraud committed.
