The agreement of guilt against Kadri Xhemajli for the burning of the Kulla

The Basic Court in Pristina, through its Special Department, has formally approved a plea agreement involving the Special Prosecutor’s Office and the accused, Kadri Xhemajli. Xhemajli faces accusations related to an attempted assassination of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti. The approval followed a declaration by Special Prosecutor Bekim Kodraliu, who stated that all requisite legal conditions for finalizing the plea agreement had been met.

Speaking on behalf of “Betimi për Drejtësi” (The Oath for Justice), Kodraliu confirmed that the Special Prosecutor’s assessment found the accused fully cognizant of the nature and gravity of the criminal charges brought against him. Furthermore, he asserted that Xhemajli understood both the advantages and the potential ramifications associated with accepting the plea. The Special Prosecutor determined that the terms of the agreement comply with all established legal requirements.

Crucially, the proceedings confirmed that the accused accepted the plea both voluntarily and with full knowledge of its implications. This development marks a significant procedural step in the case concerning the attempted assassination of the Prime Minister. The court’s approval formalizes the resolution reached between the prosecution and the accused regarding the charges.
