BDI: Dissolving VLEN into a party is just propaganda; Alternativa continues to function as a separate party

The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) has lodged new accusations against VLEN concerning the political status of the Alternativa party. The DUI alleges that despite official documentation listing Zekiria Berisha as its chairman, the Alternativa remains registered as an active political subject in the Central Register. According to the BDI, Berisha, who currently serves as the chief of cabinet for Minister Bekim Sali, is officially recorded as the party’s chairman.

However, the DUI points out that, according to the party itself, this leadership transition has not been made public or communicated to the general membership. The BDI issued a statement detailing what it described as a “scandal,” asserting that the leaders of the Alternativa have reportedly replaced the party chairman without notifying either the membership or the wider public. The DUI has raised significant questions regarding the legitimacy and timing of this alleged change within the party.

The questions focus specifically on the procedural steps taken to alter the leadership structure of the alternativa. The core dispute revolves around the transparency of the process. The accusations highlight a discrepancy between the official registration status and the internal communication regarding the leadership of the party.

The BDI’s intervention signals a formal challenge to the manner in which the leadership transition was executed, demanding clarity on when and how the change was authorized and communicated to all stakeholders.
