Sinani reacts after Vuçi’s visit to Presheva: Albanians do not treat them like second-class citizens

Following the visit of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to the municipality, the Mayor of Presheva, Ardita Sinani, addressed the matter by calling for equitable treatment for all residents. Sinani emphasized that the municipality of Presheva should not be treated merely as a site of visitation when central government institutions require it. While welcoming any investment aimed at improving the quality of life for its citizens, she asserted that standards must be uniform.

“Presheva cannot have two standards,” Sinani stated during her remarks. She highlighted the investments initiated by the Municipality of Presheva in various settlements, including Mamincë, Strezoc, and Svinjishtë, clarifying that the local administration does not base its efforts on the ethnic affiliation of its citizens. Mayor Sinani stressed that the commitment to equality maintained at the municipal level should be mirrored by the central institutions of Serbia.

Her comments underscore a demand for consistent policy application across the region. The focus remains on ensuring that all citizens of Presheva benefit from development initiatives without differentiation. The statement serves as a formal appeal for the central government to adopt the same equitable standards observed within the local governance structure, thereby supporting the overall well-being of the community.
