The Blind Association’s facility in Mitrovica will undergo renovation

The Association of the Blind in Mitrovica is slated to undergo a comprehensive renovation, a project supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). According to Ramadan Beshiri, the Director of Social Welfare for the Municipality of Mitrovica, the planned improvements are materializing following prior commitments. In a statement shared via Facebook, Beshiri indicated that the renovation fulfills a promise made during a previous campaign.

He noted that during a visit to the Association of the Blind on February 3rd, the commitment to enhance the facility’s conditions was reaffirmed. Beshiri stated that the total renovation work is commencing shortly, less than seven months after the assurances were made. He confirmed that the structure housing the Association of the Blind has been officially included in the scope of renovations backed by the UNDP.

This support aims to upgrade the overall infrastructure of the facility. The revitalization effort is expected to significantly improve the living and operational environment for the community of blind individuals within Mitrovica. The undertaking represents a concrete step toward modernizing the resources available to the Association of the Blind.
