A recent survey conducted by Telegrafi has highlighted the sustained and significant interest of the Kosovo diaspora in the current developments within the country. The research analyzed the diaspora’s perspectives across several key areas, including intentions to return, interest in investment opportunities, employment prospects, desired content within Kosovo media, and perceived necessary changes for national improvement. The findings regarding the plan to return were particularly noteworthy.
According to the survey data, 52.25 percent of participants indicated plans to relocate back to Kosovo. However, the majority of respondents viewed this return as a long-term objective rather than an immediate one. Specifically, 203 out of 446 respondents, representing 45.52 percent, stated their intention to return at a later date.
A smaller segment, comprising 30 individuals or 6.73 percent, indicated a different timeline for their return. Beyond migration plans, the survey gauged the diaspora’s appetite for economic engagement. Participants shared insights into sectors where they are willing to invest and areas where they see employment potential.
Furthermore, the research gathered qualitative data on the media landscape, determining what types of content the diaspora wishes to see reflected in Kosovo’s press. Overall, the results provide a detailed snapshot of the diaspora’s continued connection to the nation, mapping out both their long-term commitment and their immediate areas of focus for contributing to Kosovo’s future growth.
