QMK: Four active fires and three under control, a total of 31 fires

As of August 27 or 28, 2026, a total of 31 incidents involving open areas were reported as fires. Authorities have categorized these incidents, noting that 24 fires have been successfully extinguished, and three are currently under control. Of the total incidents, four fires remain classified as active.

The four active fires are geographically dispersed across several municipalities. One active site is located within the Municipality of Sarajë, specifically in the village of Kopanicë, affecting low vegetation. Another significant active incident involves the Municipality of Gostivar and the Municipality of Makedonski Brod.

This area encompasses the village of Tërnovo (in Gostivar) and extends toward the villages of Bitovo, Zagrad, and Strajane (in Makedonski Brod), impacting low forest, low vegetation, grassland, and field areas. Furthermore, two other active locations are reported. The first is in the Municipality of Çashka, situated above the village of Nezhilovë, near m.v.

Svatovi, affecting low vegetation and shrubbery. The final active fire is located within the Municipality of Jegunovci, specifically in the village of Kopance, where mixed forest is burning. These ongoing active fires require continued monitoring and resource allocation across the affected municipalities.
