Two citizens in Northern Mitrovica recently returned found property to the local police, highlighting instances of civic accountability. On August 25, an individual identified as B.S., 43, brought a collection of lost items to the Police Station on “Zoran Dzindzic” street. These items included a sum of money and identification documents.
Upon examination by police officers, the owner was confirmed to be R.P., 75. The recovered property, consisting of both money and documents, was valued at 210 euros and 120 dinars. The police subsequently returned the items to the rightful owner.
This incident follows a similar report of lost property on the same street. Previously, on April 29, another citizen, N.M., 25, found a wallet containing 80 euros, 28,000 dinars, and identification documents. The finder turned these items over to the police department.
In both cases, the police processed the found materials, confirming ownership and facilitating the return of the money and documents to the respective owners. These recent actions underscore the community’s cooperation with law enforcement when handling lost property.
