The Ministry of Defence updates data on the fire situation: 5 active hotspots in Albania

The Ministry of Defence issued its latest operational update regarding the ongoing fire situation across the country as of 20:00 on August 29, 2026. According to the data provided, a total of sixteen fire hotspots have been reported throughout the territory. Of these incidents, five are currently active, while two are under observation.

To manage the overall situation, a significant deployment of resources has been mobilized. Personnel engaged include 228 operational forces and 75 Armed Forces personnel. Supporting assets include ten fire trucks and four helicopters.

Specific operational areas require concentrated efforts. In the Dajti and Qafë-Priskë regions, reactivations are noted, prompting the deployment of 25 fire/rescue units, 20 Armed Forces personnel, and two helicopters. Meanwhile, efforts in Vajkal and Bulqizë are focused on a fire progressing across wide areas characterized by shrub and dry brush.

Here, resources include 31 local/volunteer units, 30 Armed Forces personnel, and one helicopter. Furthermore, active hotspots continue to progress across the surface in Sllatëni and Dibër. The Ministry continues to monitor the evolving situation, directing specialized units to contain the fire and ensure operational safety across all reported hotspots.
