QMK: 27 fires recorded over 24 hours, eight remain active

As of 7:30 AM on August 30th, authorities reported that a total of 27 open-air fires had been registered within the preceding 24 hours. According to the Crisis Management Center (CMC), eight incidents remain active, requiring ongoing management. These active fires are spread across several municipalities, including Resnjë, Saraj, Petrovec, Jegunovcë, Çashkë, Prilep, and Bogovinë.

The affected areas include mixed and low forests, general vegetation, storage depots, and the vicinity near the barracks in Prilep. Despite the ongoing challenges, significant progress was reported in controlling major blazes. Specifically, two large fires were successfully brought over control: one located between Gostivar and Makedonski Brod, and another situated over the village of Paligrad in the Studeničan Municipality.

Furthermore, dedicated teams working throughout the night and morning managed to extinguish 17 smaller fires across multiple regions. These mitigation efforts covered areas such as Manastir, Dollnen, Prilep, Strumica, Struga, Kumanovo, and Shtip. The operational reports indicate a sustained effort to manage the spread of these incidents and to bring the remaining active threats under control.
