PDK: The fate of missing persons must be revealed

The Parliamentary Group representing the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) held a commemorative ceremony at the memorial dedicated to individuals forcibly disappeared during the conflicts in Kosovo. During the tribute, the PDK deputies paid solemn respects to the memory of all persons whose ultimate fate remains unknown to their families. The group simultaneously extended its profound solidarity and unwavering support to the families who have endured decades of uncertainty, awaiting definitive answers regarding their missing relatives.

The PDK reiterated that the comprehensive uncovering of the fate of every disappeared person remains a paramount institutional obligation for the Republic of Kosovo. In a formal statement delivered at the memorial, the group emphasized that the pursuit of truth must be continuous. “Kosovo must not and will not cease its efforts until the fate of every disappeared individual has been fully revealed,” the PDK Parliamentary Group stated.

Furthermore, the message underscored that the commitment to establishing the truth, ensuring justice, and preserving collective memory constitutes a permanent duty for the nation. This commemoration underscores the ongoing importance of transitional justice mechanisms within Kosovo. For the PDK, honoring this memorial is not merely an act of remembrance but a commitment to accountability.

The group maintains that until every individual’s fate is definitively established, the nation’s institutional focus must remain on these unresolved cases, solidifying the rule of law and the pursuit of historical clarity across Kosovo.
