Of those impacted by the ebola virus, 1,327 patients have successfully recovered. Currently, 896 confirmed patients are under care, either in isolation facilities or receiving treatment in designated hospitals. The geographical scope of the epidemic has expanded significantly.
The virus has been reported across six provinces, specifically naming Haut-Uele, Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, Bas-Uele, and Tshopo. Furthermore, the spread has been documented in 60 distinct health zones within these regions. The outbreak was officially declared in May, and global health organizations, including the World Health Organization, have issued alerts regarding the continued transmission risk, particularly concerning the Bun type of the virus.
