A primary concern voiced by the agricultural community is the discrepancy between escalating expenses and the current market valuation. They noted that while the production volume is achieved, the prevailing low price for the nuts does not adequately cover the high costs associated with farming this year’s crop. Enver Sokoli, who planted four hectares, acknowledged the difficulties but maintained that the yield was satisfactory despite the hurdles.
He detailed the financial pressures, citing expensive labor and preparation requirements. Sokoli pointed to the reliance on subsidies, mentioning that the government provides support such as 54 euros for 15 liters of fuel per hectare for necessary machinery operation. Furthermore, he noted the ongoing costs related to fertilizer application.
