Kosovo Police intervened on Sunday following reports of an altercation at a public recreational area in Pristina. Authorities responded to an incident involving a woman who was suspected of threatening minors with a machete while also damaging property within the park. Upon arrival at the scene, police officers encountered the suspect and successfully confiscated the machete.
The police intervention prompted action from the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Pristina. Officials stated that after receiving the necessary information from the Kosovo Police unit, the prosecutor on duty ordered the detention of the individual, identified by the initials V.B., for a period of 48 hours. The suspect is currently under investigation concerning allegations of committing the criminal act of “Kanosja,” which translates to threat, as outlined under Article 181 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
The focus of the investigation centers on the actions taken at the park that involved the potential danger to children within the community space. The police action and subsequent detention underscore the measures taken by local authorities to manage public safety following incidents involving weapons in public areas. The legal proceedings will determine the full extent of the charges related to the threat and the damage sustained at the facility.
