BDI: Government withdraws 6 million euros secured for the construction of “Hasan Prishtina” boulevard

Former Deputy Minister for Transport and Connections, Bekim Rexhepi, of the BDI, criticized the recent decision to reallocate 6 million euros for the “Hasan Prishtina” boulevard. Rexhepi questioned the logic of allocating these funds to the underground route on the southern boulevard while simultaneously promoting the construction of the Skopje-Bllacë highway on another front. He argued that the proposed boulevard project is not a novel initiative or an electoral commitment.

According to Rexhepi, the urban plan for the boulevard was developed, agreed upon, and approved in 2023 by a joint commission comprising the Ministry of Transport and the City of Skopje. He noted that the construction and expansion of the “Hasan Prishtina” boulevard were integral parts of this established plan, intended to serve as a crucial connection axis between Skopje and Bllacë and Kosovo. Furthermore, Rexhepi pointed out that during the tenure of the BDI–LSDM government, 6 million euros were already secured specifically for this project.

His statement indicated a concern regarding the prioritization of funds, contrasting the established plans for the boulevard with the focus on other infrastructure developments.
