Three people were killed and the search for the 30-year-old Russian in Montenegro ended with a suicide

A significant police operation in Montenegro concluded on Tuesday with the death of a Russian citizen suspected of murdering three people. The Ministry of Interior reported that the 30-year-old Russian man is suspected of the killings of three employees at a munitions factory located in Danilovgrad, near the capital, Podgorica. Following several hours of extensive searching that involved specialized units and a helicopter, police located the suspect in a wooded area situated above the tourist town of Herceg Novi.

This location was reported to be over 120 kilometers from the initial crime scene. According to police statements, after the suspect was surrounded and realized escape was no longer possible, he fired upon the officers. The police responded with their own weaponry.

Authorities subsequently reported that the Russian citizen took his own life using a firearm. The individual is suspected of the deaths of the three people who worked at the facility.
