Manchester City has finalized the transfer of Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez, signing the 25-year-old to a five-year contract. The agreement, confirmed at the Etihad Stadium, secures his services with the club until the summer of 2031. This move sees Fernandez depart from Chelsea, where he spent over three years.

During his tenure at Chelsea, he established himself as a significant player for the London side and contributed to the club’s success by winning the Conference League and the Club World Cup in 2025. Prior to his transfer to Chelsea, Fernandez’s career included spells at Defensa y Justicia and River Plate in Argentina. He later moved to Benfica, achieving a Portuguese league title with the club.

On the international stage, Fernandez has achieved considerable success with Argentina. He was a key member of the squad that won the 2022 World Cup and secured the Copa América title in 2024. His acquisition by Manchester City strengthens the squad depth and midfield options for the club.

The transfer marks a notable shift in the transfer market, bringing a player with proven international pedigree and recent club accolades to a major competitor in English football.
