Sazan Ibrahim, the Executive Director of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, has reported a significant financial impact on local government bodies. According to Ibrahim, the cumulative seizures from Kosovo’s municipalities, spanning the period from 2022 through August of this year, total over 382 million euros. These funds were reportedly seized through various court decisions, with the majority of the recovered amounts being associated with collective contracts.
Ibrahim provided a further breakdown of the seized funds, noting that an estimated 100 million euros of the total sum was allocated to covering comprehensive administrative processes, court proceedings, and associated legal fees. Speaking on the matter, the Association expressed deep concern regarding the financial stability of the municipal structure. The leadership suggested that the pattern of seizures indicated a substantial drain on public resources.
