Kurti did not change tactics, LDK thought that President was going to be replaced by PDK, and PDK was preparing for a coup

Prime Minister Albin Kurti expressed optimism following a meeting with LDK leader Lumir Abdixhikun in Parliament regarding the possibility of a political agreement on the presidential candidate. Kurti described the atmosphere as “constructive and friendly,” but stated that “84-85 deputies” are needed in the hall to achieve a consensus. Both the Vetë Partia (Vetësi) and the LDK have maintained their respective positions.

Lumir Abdixhikun, leader of the LDK, asserted that “the three positions cannot belong to one political party.” LDK officials accused Kurti of employing a destructive approach. Following concerns raised about the PDK’s stance, Kurti announced plans to meet with PDK leader Fatmir Bejqaku. The meeting occurred amidst ongoing negotiations surrounding the selection of a presidential candidate, with differing viewpoints among the major political parties continuing to present a challenge to reaching a unified agreement.
