Shkupi Resident Arrested for Transporting Vietnamese Migrants
Macedonia’s Border Police announced the arrest of a man from Shkupi on April 23, 2026, following the apprehension of five Vietnamese migrants. According to a statement released by the Border Police (MPB), officers from the Bogoridic SP for VK and MK Bogoridic stopped U.Sh. (48), a resident of Shkupi, near the Greek border in the Bogoridic village area at approximately 02:30.
The suspect was operating a “Toyota Corolla” with an Italian license plate and was suspected of transporting the individuals. Authorities confirmed that five migrants, all nationals of Vietnam, were found inside the vehicle. Following a warrant issued by the public prosecutor, U.Sh.
was taken into custody at the police station. A formal report will be filed against him. The five Vietnamese migrants have been relocated to the “Vinojug” – Gjevgjeli Waiting and Transit Center.
The MPB stated that the incident occurred in the area near the border with Greece. Investigations are ongoing.
