Two Defendants Sentenced to Life in Banjskë Terrorist Attack Case
The Basic Court in Pristina has issued life sentences to two individuals in connection with the September 24, 2023, terrorist attack in Banjskë, Zvečan, Kosovo. Bllagoje Spasojeviq and Vladimir Tolliq were each sentenced to life imprisonment. Dushan Maksimoviq received a 30-year prison term for his involvement in the incident.
The court found the defendants guilty of responsibility for the attack that resulted in the death of Kosovo Police officer Afrim Bunjaku. The attack occurred in northern Kosovo and prompted a subsequent indictment involving a group of 45 individuals, including Milan Radoiçiq. The investigation, initiated approximately one year after the terrorist attack, led to these convictions.
The Court of Appeal in Pristina has the right to appeal the verdict within 30 days following the decision. This sentencing represents a significant outcome in the legal proceedings related to the Banjskë incident. Further legal action remains possible as the case progresses.
