Kosovo Police Chief Praises Sentencing in “Banjska” Case
Kosovo Police General Director Gazmend Hoxha has described the court’s sentencing of three individuals involved in the “Banjska” case as justified. Speaking exclusively to KosovaPress immediately following the verdict, Hoxha acknowledged the court’s decision, which included life imprisonment for two defendants and a 30-year sentence for a third. Hoxha stated that while he valued the courts fulfilling their duty, he believes justice remains incomplete regarding the full scope of those involved in the September 24, 2023, attack in Banjska, Zvečan.
“We value that the courts have fulfilled their duty. It was, I think, a fair and just process, because that is how the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo have been built,” Hoxha commented. Despite acknowledging the verdict as “just,” Hoxha indicated that legal appeals are anticipated.
Lawyers representing the defendants will likely pursue an appeal against the court’s decision. He emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation and the pursuit of all individuals implicated in the terrorist attack. The General Director Hoxha reiterated the need for complete justice in this case.
