Kosovo Minister Çeku Visits Albania, Reaffirms Education Cooperation

Tirana, Albania – Minister of Education and Science, Hajrulla Çeku, commenced his inaugural official visit to the Republic of Albania, beginning with a meeting with Albanian Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro Furxhi. The discussions centered on the established close cooperation between Kosovo and Albania within the field of education. Both ministers emphasized the need to further strengthen this partnership through collaborative projects and student mobility initiatives.

The goal is to develop a robust and competitive education system benefiting the wider Balkan region. The focus remains on establishing a high-quality system through strategic partnerships. During his time in Tirana, Minister Çeku attended the fourth edition of the National Albanian Language Competition.

The event, drawing approximately 7,000 students from 800 schools, showcased the dedication to language and learning within Albania. The final round featured competing schools “Besëlidhja” of Lezhë and “Edith Durham” of Tirana, representing a significant moment in the competition’s history. Organizers viewed the competition as a demonstration of progress within the country’s educational landscape.

The meeting highlighted the importance of joint efforts to advance educational standards across the region.
