Teenager Involved in Fatal Shooting at Rio Branco School

Rio Branco, Acre – A 13-year-old boy is in custody following a shooting at the Sao Jose Institute, a lower secondary school in Rio Branco, the capital of Acre state, on Tuesday. The incident resulted in the deaths of two school staff members and left two other individuals wounded, including an 11-year-old girl. According to authorities, the teenager entered the school and discharged a firearm in a hallway leading to the principal’s office.

Colonel Felipe Russo of the Acre military police department reported that the shooting occurred around [Insert Time if available]. The 11-year-old girl sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. The suspect, identified as a student at the school, subsequently turned himself in to police.

His brother, who possessed the .380 caliber pistol used in the attack, was also taken into custody. Local government officials confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are ongoing. Police have been working to identify all students present at the school during the event.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. This incident has deeply shocked the community.
