North Macedonia Launches Operation Targeting Illegal Botox Use in Salons

The Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia has initiated an operation targeting the unauthorized administration of botox injections within beauty salons and straightening salons. The operation, conducted by the Department for Combating Organized and Serious Crime, resulted in the apprehension of individuals allegedly involved in criminal activity. Under the leadership of a public prosecutor from the Office of the Chief Prosecutor’s Criminal Investigation Directorate, law enforcement executed a police operation focused on disrupting organized criminal groups.

The investigation centered around charges including “criminal association,” “infringement of industrial property rights and unauthorized use of another company,” and “bribery-taking.”

The Ministry of Interior stated that the operation aims to combat illicit practices and ensure consumer safety. Investigations are ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available. The focus remains on addressing criminal activity related to the misuse of botox and related violations of commercial regulations.
