Democratic Party of Kosovo Open to Any Election Date Proposed by Haxhiu

PRISHTINA – The Democratic Party of Kosovo (DPK) has indicated its willingness to accept any proposed date for new parliamentary elections, according to a statement released ahead of a meeting with acting President Albulena Haxhiu. DPK leader Bedri Hamza stated that the party holds no specific preference regarding the timeframe between May 31st and June 7th for the upcoming elections. Speaking prior to a consultative meeting with Haxhiu, Hamza told T7 that the DPK would respect the acting president’s decision on the date.

The meeting, scheduled to discuss the timeline for new elections, follows a ruling by the Constitutional Court. Hamza emphasized the party’s commitment to respecting the institution, stating, “Any date within the decision of the Constitutional Court is acceptable for us.”

The discussion will focus on determining a suitable date for the elections, aligning with the court’s guidance. The meeting between Hamza and Haxhiu is intended to facilitate a resolution regarding the election date.
