BE in Kosovo places the voice of the youth and European opportunities at the center of the discussion

The increasing academic and exchange opportunities between Kosovo and the European Union have highlighted the growing importance of EU programs, such as Erasmus+, for young people seeking educational experiences and professional connections across Europe. These various avenues of development were the focus of a public forum held on Monday at the Faculty of Philology. The event was organized by the European Union in Kosovo, in partnership with the Media Institute at the University of Pristina.

The discussion, titled “The Voices of Youth for Europe,” addressed several critical aspects influencing youth engagement with the continent. Topics covered included the recognition of academic diplomas, the implications of freedom of movement, digital rights, and the broader perspectives of Kosovo’s youth regarding European integration. The panel discussion featured Prof.

Dr. Gëzim Qerimi from the University of Pristina, Mimika Dobroshini, who serves as the Erasmus+ coordinator and office head, and Diana Mehmetaj. Participants engaged in a dialogue centered on maximizing the available opportunities.

The forum emphasized how these interconnected elements—from academic mobility to digital inclusion—are shaping the future pathways for young Kosovars. Overall, the event served to underscore the multifaceted nature of the growing relationship between Kosovo and the EU. By convening experts and students, the organizers aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the opportunities available through established European frameworks, thereby encouraging deeper participation in the European sphere.
