LDK Official Denies LVV Request for President Candidate Names
In a live interview on Pressing, LDK representative Berat Rukiqi addressed claims made by journalist Albatros Rexhaj regarding a purported request from the League of Kosovo in the presidential selection process. Rexhaj had previously stated that the LVV, the Kosovo’s governing body, had requested the LDK to provide names for consideration as a presidential candidate. However, Rukiqi swiftly refuted these assertions.
“Albatrosi is speaking falsehoods about this negotiation process,” he stated during the interview. “He does not have accurate information regarding the situation.” Rukiqi emphasized that the negotiation for a president has never involved the provision of candidate names. “We have sought to establish a clear process for Kosovo’s president, ensuring the role is filled without this type of public disclosure,” Rukiqi explained.
He suggested that Rexhaj’s information may be coming from an undisclosed source. The LDK official maintained that the focus remains on a defined process for the selection of Kosovo’s head of state. The exchange occurred on Pressing, with Express reporting on the LDK’s response to Rexhaj’s initial declaration.
