A Los Angeles court has ordered musician Chris Brown and his company, Black Pyramid LLC, to pay nearly $13 million in damages to Maria Avila, Brown’s former housekeeper. The judgment follows an incident that occurred at Brown’s residence in 2020, where Avila was reportedly attacked by a dog belonging to Brown. After a two-week trial, the court ruled in favor of Avila.
According to reports, the final awarded sum requires Brown and his company to pay Avila $12.9 million, equating to approximately 11.3 million euros. During the proceedings, Avila detailed the circumstances surrounding the dog attack. She stated that the incident took place in 2020 while she was disposing of trash at the California property.
She alleged that the dog attacked her, resulting in severe injuries, including large tears to her skin and significant disfigurement to her face and arm. Furthermore, Avila testified about ongoing mobility issues that she continues to experience as a result of the attack. The ruling establishes a substantial financial liability for Brown regarding the damages sustained by Avila.
The court’s decision mandates that Brown and his associated business entity provide compensation to Avila for the injuries and losses she incurred. This legal outcome concludes the litigation regarding the dog attack at the property.
