Two Individuals Arrested in Kosovo Following Cybercrime Investigation
Pristina and Suhareka – Authorities in Kosovo have announced the arrest of two individuals on suspicion of involvement in a complex criminal operation involving computer system intrusion and fraud. The arrests, made in Pristina and Suhareka, are part of an ongoing investigation targeting individuals allegedly exploiting online platforms for illicit financial gain. According to officials, the suspects are accused of deceiving citizens in multiple countries through deceptive communications.
The operation involved convincing victims to disclose financial information or provide access to their accounts via phone calls. Investigations revealed a coordinated effort to obtain funds for themselves and potentially others. During a coordinated police operation, a significant amount of evidence was seized.
This included ten vehicles, fifteen computers, four mobile phones, two laptops, four USB drives, and €48,700 in cash. Additionally, numerous documents pertinent to the investigation were confiscated. Following a prosecutor’s decision, the two suspects have been detained and are currently in custody.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the full scope of the operation and are pursuing further legal action. The investigation focuses on the exploitation of citizens and the use of digital platforms for fraudulent activities.
