Drew Barrymore recently discussed her experiences with menopause and her decision not to become a mother again. In an interview, Barrymore reflected on the significant changes she’s experienced following her two cesarean births. “Recently, I was walking and felt so tired.
I’ve had two C-sections and can’t wear many different types of pants,” she stated. “Now I understand that when you have children, you have a stressful life and your body changes, expands, and things just aren’t the same.”
Barrymore described feeling overwhelmed by the symptoms of menopause, using the analogy of a “dead fish.” “I can’t, I mean, I can’t imitate anything,” she explained. “I’m so irritable that I feel like a fish that someone has brought to the beach, and I’m just that dead fish.”
The actress emphasized the profound impact of having children on one’s life and physical state, highlighting the irreversible changes that occur.
She clarified her stance on expanding her family, stating her unwillingness to pursue motherhood at this time.
